 Introduction
=============

Welcome to the documentation for **Veldform**, a WordPress plugin that feels like a native extension of WordPress, includes payments, (custom) API connections, spam protection and AI form building magic.

How it works
------------

You build forms in the [form builder](/products/veldform/docs/form-builder), from scratch, from a template, or by describing them to AI. What happens on submit is up to [actions](/products/veldform/docs/actions): send a notification, add someone to your mailing list, [take a payment](/products/veldform/docs/payments), or [send the data to any API](/products/veldform/docs/custom-apis). Submissions are stored as [entries](/products/veldform/docs/entries), and every form is [protected against spam](/products/veldform/docs/anti-spam) out of the box.

For developers there's a lot to like too: overridable markup, [CSS that never fights your theme](/products/veldform/docs/customization), [Liquid merge tags](/products/veldform/docs/merge-tags) and [registries for everything](/products/veldform/docs/hooks), custom field types, actions, payment gateways and captcha providers are first-class citizens.

Requirements
------------

- WordPress 6.7 or higher (7.0 or higher for [AI features](https://make.wordpress.org/core/2026/03/24/introducing-the-ai-client-in-wordpress-7-0/))
- PHP 8.0 or higher
